Hi, my furious readers! Thanks for joining the community and landing on this page. We will talk in this very first short article about what you do and not on the market as an employer if you care about your reputation.
I have 4 pillars of Excellence - Measure, Care, Promote and Collaborate.
Measure
If you have little to no resources, you have to ask around or google yourself and you will find something via social listening. That means you under your private account are logging into the most popular social networks and looking for content employees are publishing.
If you have more resources, you pay for the above data where people parsing that data, you can use social listening software tools (you take any) or/and buy access to the industry research and specifically interview real people outside and inside the company. With limited resources do Fast and Furious Fokus Group and interview sessions - send some employees and involve people from outside.
Care
That is the most challenging part. If you struggle with having emotions and having a lack of empathy, this would be very hard to fake. The best way to start caring about employees is to calculate the price per head replacement and training of the new employee. Ouch!
People love flexibility and comfort. Provide this to you people. Let someone have a short working week and long holidays. You probably have been asked about something - make it happen. It must be easy for you. Remember important dates - congratulate people with their working jubilees, and birthdays and take them easy on bad days.
You don't have to do it all personally - send a virtual card and some appropriate merchandise.
Promote
YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram are a must in vertical format and similar storyline - find inspired employees and ask them to generate content, regularly which you then send to the publishing department/agency and distribute to all possible social media channels you can afford.
Train a group of Brand Ambassadors and have a real-life meetup for them. Distribute valuable merchandise and encourage people to talk about their work openly. Please, stop flooding LinkedIn and train people on how to write using drafts, provided by you. Consult HR.
Collaborate
As you can see, no department can do all the above alone - only one company with clear communication between departments can shine and share it IN RELEVANT PUBLICATION time.
Hire people who are not scared to share an opinion and reach for feedback. Encourage programs of merging people between departments and switching trainees.
Create an atmosphere where employees feel valued, not paid.
